Aluminum frames
Aluminum is most commonly used material for production of bicycle frames. Quality, riding response and safety is determent by treating of aluminum tubes and welding process which can make one frame twice as expensive than the other with same characteristics on the paper.
How are Cult aluminum frames made?
When engineering aluminum frame one of the big problems is high resonance of the tubes – they translate vibrations (and sound) very well which is noticed in uneven, sometimes even dangerous ride. For this reason we use aluminum tubes with thinner walls on the low-stress areas, while on the high-stress areas like welds tubes are thicker. With this process frames are durable and lightweight.
Every Cult frame is different, since it is build for specific use. At Cult we only use high quality materials and always with high concern about the safety. Frames Navigator, Explorer X and Insomnia are made from custom butted tubes, while New Evolution and Ananda are made from double butted tubes. Maschina and Fobia are used for extreme conditions, so their structure is specific with extremely strong elements, CNC machined parts and box constructions.
